Why ParisTogether

Every day in Paris, I meet travelers in Paris search for their directions. Tourists standing in front of ticket machines in metro stations, wondering which ticket is the right one. Families with buggies who realize that few metro stations and routes are as accessible as they had expected. Or people with limited mobility, for whom even short trips in Paris require special planning.
In the same way, I’ve met people who have only recently moved to Paris or France. People who are eagerly looking forward to starting a new chapter and hope not only to settle into their new surroundings but also to feel at home as quickly as possible.

Paris exerts an enormous, almost magical pull on many people. At the same time, the reality on the ground can sometimes be different than expected. A small mistake, a misunderstanding, or an unexpected situation is often enough to overshadow valuable vacation time with stress, frustration, or uncertainty. Add a language barrier to the mix, and a minor setback can quickly turn into a real problem.

These observations have stayed with me for many years. They have shown me just how varied the needs and expectations are of people who come to Paris or start a new chapter of their lives here.

That's exactly how ParisTogether came to be!

With experiences tailored to each person’s needs, interests, and circumstances, ParisTogether aims to help people discover Paris in their own unique way—in a more relaxed, personal manner that captures the spirit of the city that makes it so special to me.

Because everyone experiences Paris differently. And that, to me, is precisely what makes this city so beautiful.

Who Is Behind ParisTogether?

You might be wondering why this topic is so important to me.

My name is Michael, and the answer to this question begins long before ParisTogether was founded.

Right from the start of my career, I realized that it wasn’t just traveling that inspired me, but above all the people who are on the road. I’ve led groups of children and teenagers, and later worked in international tourism, where I saw just how differently people experience travel. Some want to see as much as possible, while others are looking for relaxation, a sense of direction, or simply someone who makes them feel that they’re in good hands.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to live and work in various countries—including Miami, Ibiza, and the Canary Islands. Later, I held international leadership positions, earned an Executive MBA, and spent many years in the corporate world. Each of these experiences has broadened my perspective. I’ve learned how differently people think, communicate, and make decisions. Above all, I’ve learned to listen, recognize needs, and take responsibility.

In 2018, my own life journey led me to Paris. Like many others, a new chapter began for me here. Despite my international experience and strong language skills, settling in wasn’t always easy. I know what it’s like to have to find your way in a new city, learn new habits, and build a home for yourself step by step.

That’s exactly why I can really relate to many of the situations you experience here in Paris. Whether it’s families who want to enjoy a relaxing vacation, people with limited mobility who rely on careful planning, or expats trying to find their way in their new daily lives—it’s often the little things that make all the difference.

Today, all of that experience is being channeled into ParisTogether.

I look forward to showing you Paris just as I experience it myself every day: vibrant, diverse, sometimes surprising — and always with the goal of making you feel at home here.
